A Shoulder Bag made from recycled rice packs, complete with shoulder strap and side pocket. This bag is 33 cm (13 inches) wide by 39 cm (15 inches) high. The 20cm square side pocket is a very useful place to store knick-knacks. Practical yet fashionable too! The bags vary a great deal depending upon what the manufacturer has available, so the main picture shows the bag, while the smaller images show our actual stock.
The project began in Thailand where old rice sacks are collected, cleaned and then converted into stylish bags. This particular project helps support women who have come from broken marriages with little income and a family to support. This project has only just started, but it has grown to help a community, offer independence, create a good income and bring fun back into peoples' lives.
Each product is slightly different because of the nature of the source of the materials used. However we have two colours in stock pink (both sides) and blue (front only, white back). These make great presents for environmentally aware youngsters.
