More information
The Interflush won 'Best Invention winner' at the British Invention Show 2004. It saves large amounts of water by only flushing the toilet bowl with exactly what is required to clear it. With the most common size toilet cistern Interflush saves 25-30 litres per person of water per day. If you are on a water meter, that's £27 per family member per year. That equates to £1,000 over ten years for an average household.
And even if you're not on a meter, please buy one of these to save the large amounts of electricity wasted by the water companies carrying away all that excess water. It is now officially approved and on the Water Technology List (www.eca-water.gov.uk) and this means that businesses can save tax on the purchase if they buy one.
The Interflush fits on top of plastic WC siphons in all cisterns with flush handles on the front. Any competent person can fit this kit in about fifteen minutes.
Once fitted, water only flushes when the handle is held down; releasing the handle stops the flush (so a person can stop when the pan is clear). Sheffield University tested Interflush and estimated typical savings of 47% of the flushing water.
It does not leak (unlike most valve flushing devices). Easy to operate, maintenance free, designed to last, guaranteed for approximately 200,000 flushes. Water Regulation Advisory Service tested and approved.
The future is not orange, it is green and it is the only one we have.
