NatureBabyTV videos and DVDs for children are simply the best we have found for entertaining babies between 0 and 36 months old.
NATURE UP CLOSE is an entertaining and educational journey, introducing your baby to the idea of natural shapes and colours. Split into sections, the first half of the video concentrates on shapes shown in close-up. The shapes first appear in black and white, then they are repeated in colour. This encourages the baby's early visual recognition and helps him/her begin to notice objects that are similar, but not identical, in shape. The second half of the video then reveals the shapes and colours in their natural environment. The visual repetition of the object in the wider context stimulates the baby to recognise shapes in the world around them and stimulates their natural curiosity. NATURE UP CLOSE is a fun and lively mix of graphic shapes, natural images and animation. It is set to original music composed specifically for babies and toddlers.
NATURE UP CLOSE has only just been released as the follow up to PATTERNS IN NATURE so we don't have any formal reviews. However it is from the same producers as PATTERNS IN NATURE and you can read those reviews by clicking on the PATTERNS IN NATURE product in this shop.

NatureBabyTV- Patterns in Nature/Nature up Close
I bought both of these DVDs as original presents for friends who were having second children, to give them a bit of well-earned 'time-out'. I like many parents prefer the concept of kids playing interactively, rather than watching a lot of TV, but these appealed to me, due to the imagery being more natural and educational in context.
I found the 'Patterns in Nature' one of the few things I've watched with my toddler (just over 2 years old) that we both enjoyed.I loved the seasonal images, and the animals, birds and spiderwebs. I found that due to the lack of storyline, I had to tell her about the images to keep her involved, but it was a relaxing way to spend a half hour together. Younger children would perhaps be more 'mesmerised' by the images, and not need the adult input.
The Nature up Close DVD was less interesting to watch as an adult, but probably stimulating for a younger baby, due to the bold shapes
My husband felt these were expensive for half an hour, due to cartoon feature films you could get for a lot less. I bought these, but wouldn't choose a cartoon film, so I guess it's down to personal choice).
