Set of six beautiful napkins each 45 x 45 cms (17 x 17 inch) in size. Each Napkin is hand-painted and, therefore, unique. The colour and designs may vary slightly from the illustrations. Each set comes beautifully presented as a wonderful gift in sisal binding with a pine nut - more commonly know as a ground nuts. The ground nuts grow in the grounds of Tribal textiles and four people collect them and carve patterns on the nuts before they are used to bind up the napkinswood/string package. Sorry only one colour left in stock, China Blue. Machine wash up to 30 degree C.
These napkins are made by Tribal Textiles in Zambia. This company employs 160 staff who produce 100% cotton hand painted products for the home and export markets. Over 80% of the local population are unemployed and this makes the value of work in the area significant for everyone.
As a result of sales, the company has been able to help build a local primary school for employees' children as well as other local kids. The school offers over 400 children access to education which would otherwise mean a three mile walk every day. Thanks to your purchases from Tribal Textiles there is hope in the locality of future employment and education which would otherwise not have been available.
