All five items are emblazoned with an elephant motif and contribute to greater cooperation between humans and elephants.

This paper is made from exactly what is says! All handmade paper is made using a fibrous material; it is boiled and beaten to make the fibre pulp. In Elephant Dung paper, the elephant has done this for us! This leaves us to collect the dung, clean it by boiling and steaming so that all the bacteria are killed, then putting the pulp into a shallow mould. The coarseness of the paper is dependent entirely on the elephant diet, meaning that no two sheets are identical.

There is a more important side to this range, however. The supplier of this paper is the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust and Foundation. A percentage of the profits from making the paper go back into the project that looks after elderly elephants and is constantly developing relations between humans and elephant. The growth of tourism and general population are having adverse effects on elephant habitats with humans taking over traditional elephant paths. Humans then grow food where elephants eat, resulting in conflict. Maximus is paying villagers to collect the elephant dung thus trying to get both parties to live together.
